Just 3 weeks ago Chanel released their first ever digital fashion show. (Cruise 2020/21 Collection) The show was quite a spectacle, the video was filmed in their Paris studio. Each piece in the video was made using some scraps found around their Atelier, with the limited garments the 51 look collection was a show stopper. Chanel has come out with fabulous Cruise collections in with a traditional fashion show. But this time around with the limited pieces and influencers, the show was all about the clothes.
Pops of color here and there with some stunning Tweed pieces. The show also promoted sustainable fashion by using what they found around the atelier. While the brand is not vegan, the brand is taking a huge step into the future.
The collection consisted of flowy patchwork denim with corresponding bootleg cuts. Bottoms of any and every length, from the trendiest Bermuda shorts to denim capris and tieing it off with a pair or two of sailor style pants.
A true rainbow of colors were infused with each look. Subtle contrasting colors added to the piping of pockets and necklines added that perfect edge Chanel casually protrudes. (Even the straps had some colorful touches!) Smooth leather blazers paired with coral diamond piped hobo bags were all the rage. Smooth leather summer garments are in high demand and Chanel nailed it.
Would this be a Chanel show without Tweed? As accustomed, Chanel portrayed multiple bright colored Tweed suit sets, ranging from bright fuchsia to Barbie pink.
This hefty 72 look fall/winter collection by Chanel is to die for. Main elements of each look are carefully selected gemstone embellishments, as seen in the photos. Chanel kept it quite simple with this collection, the silhouettes we’re classics but modernized with some pretty details. But as we can tell, Chanel is a rebellious brand they added some major puff sleeves to some pieces to keep the eye wondering from each classic look. A jaw dropper for sure.
Colors ranged from soft yellow green to tangerine red and finishing it off with some neutrals, black white grey and burgundy. As for hardware not much silver or gun metal was present but instead the classic yellow gold and bronze gold took their place. Softened pink gems and floral appliques as well as ivory feathers roamed the runway.
While keep the looks simple the infamous brand played with the colors and textures. Introducing feathers and crochet pieces to the mix. Dishevelled and subtle beachy waves were worn by most models excluding the major medium straight bob cuts worn by a select few. The brand dived into the world of tweed knits and created beautiful coats with this texture, and added their own flare. Chanel than ended the show with some stellar longline white coats and buttoned maxi skirts.
