Dear Ladies,
How are your Monday mornings like, style wise? With quarantine getting dressed in sweats and a hoodie has become the norm, we forget the fun of getting dressed up. Yes, pulling an outfit together early in the morning can be a hassle, especially if you have plenty of clothes. But the key tip is to just have less clothes, you don’t need a Kim Kardashian style closest, a simple one will do. The less clothes you have the more you know about yourself and your style.
A stylish women can live off of 100 items of clothing, only because her closet is full of her wow pieces and some reliable ones too. Which brings me to point 1, Fill your closet with wow pieces and basics. Once you have those pieces that look amazing on you and is just the right color for you, getting dressed in the morning will be quicker and much more joyful. Now you can’t only fill up your closet with wow pieces, some basics like a cashmere sweater or a black dress are meant to be there because they are just reliable and a perfect fail safe.
The power of accessories needs to be addressed more than we see. Your outfit can be the basic of the basics, I’m talking about a basic pair of black jeans and a white button up, but your jewelry or those chic sunglasses can change the whole look. Tip number 2 is, accessorize, accessorize, and accessorize some more. Throwing on a nice pair of big black ombré sunnies and a patterned silk scarf around the waist can instantly upgrade your simple black abaya dress (long sleeve maxi dress). Fill your accessory closet with pieces that are very you and pieces that you love unconditionally.
Now this might be a very obvious tip but, lay out your clothes the day before. Taking pictures of outfits you want to wear not only make you not want to wear them but you forget about them. When the outfit is fresh on your mind it is the best time to wear it. Another bonus tip is to leave one item out when you are setting up your outfit, for example don’t pick out your shoes just yet or your skirt. Leaving that one piece out will give you just enough time to excite you about your outfit and you still feel like you are putting something together.
One last tip that just might shock you, is to look imperfectly perfect. Meaning that you should strictly not look perfect. Maybe keep your hijab/hair slightly imperfect and perfect your makeup. (Wear less or no makeup at all, eyeliner and lipstick will do.) Something about your look should look imperfect but it’s still perfect. If you look perfectly dressed from head to toe, that’s boring. If you look imperfect from head to toe, well than that’s just a disaster. Making that one piece slightly messy can make you look imperfectly perfect. Now time to get dressed ladies, clocks ticking!
Really nice
