I know so many of us doom scroll on Pinterest looking for beautiful outfits to wear. But how much better would it be to be able to create your own outfits. Yes, so this weeks fashion letter is all about how to create the perfect outfit from head to toe. It’s not as hard as you think. Let’s head straight into it.
1. Choosing Your Main piece
I want you to open up your closet and pull out the first piece that inspires you. Which piece are you just feeling like wearing today? It could be anything, but it must be a clothing piece. Building an outfit based on accessories might a bit harder.
Ex: Sarah picks out a red puff sleeve blouse as her main piece.
2. Choosing A Complimentary Piece
Now this is where you will choose your bottom. If you chose a dress or a one piece as your main then this doesn’t apply to you. Before you just go pulling out a random piece, look at your main piece. Look at the color, and take out your trusty color wheel. Find a complimentary color that goes with your main piece. Also stay aware of the silhouette, make sure each garment looks well together.
This may seem like a daunting process, but it gets easier with practice.
Ex: Sarah then chooses a beige pleated skirt to pair with her blouse.
3. Choosing Your Accessories
Now that you have the base of your outfit it’s time to move on to adding the icing on the cake. This step is very simple, just pick either gold or silver jewelry to wear. But remember to keep it balanced, only wear statement pieces when you’re not wearing other jewelry.
You can wear dainty pieces as well, those add a lot more charm to any look. You might also want to take a look at which metal suit you best as well, there are many YouTube tutorials on how to find out whether gold or silver suits you best.
Your accessories don’t always have to be jewelry. You can wear a pretty silk scarf that compliments the colors you are wearing. Always keep the colors cohesive, you should wear at most 1 – 4 different colors at the same time.
Ex: Sarah chooses a gold pendant necklace and a small golden bangle as her accessory.
4. Choosing Your Shoes
Now it’s time to pick out a cute pair of shoes to go with your look. Honestly for this part it’s really all up to you. I advice you to keep your shoes simple if you’re outfit is exuberant and vice versa.
Ex: Sarah chooses black court shoes that sport a golden heel as her shoe of choice.
5. Choosing Your Bag
Now it’s to find the perfect cherry for your cake, or is it a sundae. Whatever it is, your bag ties everything else in. When choosing a bag take a look at what your doing that day and where you’re going.
If your going to a dinner party, a clutch would best. If you’re going to work a good tote is always handy. If you’re going to a business meeting a tote is still a great option.
Ex: Sarah pulls out a gold crossbody bag to wear since she’s only meeting up with some friends for lunch.
Well there you have it that’s how you make an outfit. Pretty simple right, as you begin to practice these steps you’ll begin to explore your own style. Which can then help discover your style. Well with that ladies I’ll see you off. Ciao Bella.
